Celia Heath


Celia Pascale Heath is a PhD student in the Department of Italian at Columbia University. She received her BA in Literary Arts at Brown University, where she graduated magna cum laude with honors for the novella she wrote as her senior thesis. She is a recipient of the 2022–2023 Fulbright Scholarship in Italy, during which she taught at a pre-professional school in Crotone, Calabria. She subsequently completed her laurea magistrale in the Department of Filologia Classica e Italianistica at the Università di Bologna. Her dissertation, titled "Rappresentazioni del Corpo Femminile nella Letteratura di Condotta Italiana del Novecento," is based on original archival research on twentieth-century conduct literature under fascism in Italy. In addition to English and Italian, she has studied and researched in Spanish, French, Latin, and Ancient Greek, and she has instructed language and writing at the secondary, undergraduate, and graduate levels.
