Kathleen Canady Cannon

Katie Cannon is a PhD student in the department of Italian at Columbia University. She received her BA in Medieval & Renaissance Studies and Romance Studies (French and Italian) cum laude from Duke University, where she was a member of Gamma Kappa Alpha, The National Italian Honor Society. As an undergraduate student, Katie spent a semester studying Italian and medieval and early modern history at Venice International University in Venice, Italy, and was a translation and research intern for the Leo Marchutz Catalogue Raisonné in Aix-En-Provence, France. Katie’s academic interests include Dante studies, particularly Dante’s literary and linguistic intersections with French and Occitan medieval literature, cross-cultural and multilingual philology, and medieval and early modern Italian religious history.
