Isabella Livorni is a PhD candidate in Italian and comparative literature at Columbia. She grew up between the United States (Connecticut and Madison, WI) and Italy (Sesto Fiorentino (FI) and Pescara) before moving to New York in 2011. She graduated summa cum laude from Barnard College in 2015, with a B.A. in Italian and music. At Barnard, she was awarded the Speranza Prize in Italian and the Ethel Stone LeFrak Prize for music scholarship. Her interests include the relationship between music and poetry, early sound recordings, translation, and multilingualism.
